Milan Fashion Week Round-up: Giorgio Armani Fall 2010

There is virtually nothing I don’t like about Giorgio Armani’s Fall 2010 and Winter 2011 collection…except for the heavy techno music accompanying the majority of the runway show. The looks rely on black velvet with the extraordinary detail and precision one expects from Armani; sacrificing not an once of sexiness while maintaining a high level of experimentation Armani calls this “The new chic,” and in my humble opinion its not only chic but endearing and playful. Armani’s Fall/Winter collection is nothing short of a home run in that it balances that fine line between what can sell–moreover, what will please his dedicated buyers–and what maintains that certain edge which defines some sort of artistic integrity seemingly lacking in other designer.
