Um…there’s almost too much to love and hate about Karl Lagerfeld’s Chanel Fall and Winter 2010 collection. The runway show above sums it up rather nicely, but leaves me wondering if Lagerfeld is the superstitious type…does he have a unique fondness for Sasquatch or Chewbacca the Wookie? Maybe that’s just me.
Don’t trip that’s a real flippin imported ice berg, naturally since they don’t occur in France! Opulent at times (see berg of ice), daring, and in most cases scarcely ready-to-wear, Lagerfeld, ever the visionary, managed to conjure up pieces that are heartwarming and beautiful. I can’t wrap my head around the abundance of fur–it’s fake by the way–right down to fur pants and what looks like a confused Mark Rothko inspired college mascot (okay that was a cheap shot). When the designer uses fur sparingly–or not at all–it works exquisitely and shows what a true showman maestro Lagerfeld is. More must-see amazing and laughable pictures after the jump.
